So… you’re planning a party, what next? Key to a great party is the planning, and it’s sometimes the most fun part too. You already know the purpose of the party and you can decide on a theme related to the event the party is celebrating. Depending on the season, you can choose an outdoor event or remain indoors if the weather is unfavourable or you can combine both options. This is especially useful for children’s parties. An outdoor play area combined with an indoor eating space allows the excited children to blow off energy and this allows you are able to keep a little order on the food / eating area. The same applies to barbecue’s and summer alfresco dining. In poor weather conditions and night-time, parties are usually held indoors in the home, a marquee or a hired venue. Whatever the time of the day, the season or the location it’s most enjoyable to step back when all the work is done and gaze on a well decorated party - before the guests arrive. The following are some great party decorating ideas for your next event. A well designed Party is always a show stopper and much appreciated by the guest of honour particularly if it’s a surprise event and the host has personalise it with photos from the past – these are great for birthdays, anniversaries, retirements etc. Make your plan and find a great Party Supplies Shop who will take time to assist and advise you. Balloons transform a large venue into a magical space. Choose bright or muted colours or balloons that are lit from within to add atmosphere to the room. Decide whether you want to go with helium filled foil or latex balloons. Do you want them printed? With a message or a photo? Use ribbons, organza and colourful weights to add glitz and sparkle. Use exploding balloons in a venue with a high ceiling fantastic or you can choose to have a smaller balloon inside a transparent large balloon. The list is endless but you need to find a skilled balloon artist to give it the WOW factor. Don’t forget the table(s)! Choose matching tableware, napkins and co-ordinate favours – especially for a wedding – wrapped in organza to match the balloons or in favour boxes or bags. Printed table balloons are a great idea instead of place cards and there are huge selections of table centre pieces, some with LED lights and some with actual candles. Cake Stands and Cupcake Pyramids can all be co-ordinated with the rest of the table for both the formal and the casual party. Use colours to help with the theme. Black and orange are great Halloween colours, while red / white often signify Christmas. Everything turns green in Ireland for St Patrick’s Day and Yellow for Easter. Hen Nights often like to go Pink or sometimes Purple.
